Gene Wagester, P.E. is cofounder of WL Port-Land Systems. He has been involved in the engineering and construction industries since 1961. Gene has been a founder and partner in his own engineering firms since 1975. He served as Vice President of Engineering for Wagester, Walker, Thornton & Company, Inc.; as President of Wagester Engineering, P.C.; and as a Structural Engineer at Hough Brothers, Inc. Gene’s design experience spans many industries including feed and grain, coal, power and aggregate.
As Chief Engineer, Gene contributes to our company’s management activities as well as to conceptual designs and detailed structural design for proposed and active projects.
Gene is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Civil and Structural Engineer in multiple states, and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the American Concrete Institute (ACI).
Gene is the author of several published articles in various trade journals, and has been a guest speaker at professional industry conferences.
